The simplicity promise

Depo is built to make money feel simpler, not to give you another system to manage.

That means I’m not going to keep adding features just because other budgeting apps have them. I’m not going to turn Depo into a complicated financial dashboard, bury the useful parts under endless settings, or make you spend more time managing the app than managing your money.

No feature bloat

Every new feature has to earn its place.

It should solve a real problem, make Depo easier to use, or help you understand your money more clearly. “It would be cool” is not enough.

Sometimes the right decision will be not to build something.

No overengineering

Depo does not need to do everything.

It needs to do its main job extremely well: show you how much you can safely spend and help you stay aware of where your money is going.

I’ll always try to choose the simplest reliable solution instead of adding unnecessary systems, screens, settings, and complexity.

The app should stay understandable

You should be able to open Depo and immediately understand what is happening.

No financial jargon. No confusing charts added for decoration. No setup process that feels like doing your taxes. No features designed only to make the app look more powerful.

The goal is clarity, not complexity.

Thoughtful changes, not constant changes

Depo will improve, but it will not change just for the sake of looking active.

I’ll fix bugs, polish rough edges, improve performance, and add things when they genuinely make the experience better. But I won’t chase every trend or rebuild the app every few months.

A promise, not a rule carved in stone

Depo may grow over time. New ideas may prove useful, and the needs of its users may change.

But the principle will stay the same:

Do the useful things. Remove the unnecessary things. Keep Depo simple.

That is the promise.
